- Heliopan’s premier 39mm Orange Glass Filter is primarily used for black and white film. Ideal for outdoor shooting, the Orange Glass Filter strongly darkens blue and green values, increases overall contrast and decreases atmospheric haze. Interestingly, the filter can also be used for portraitures to smooth skin tones and blemishes. Filter Factor: Approximately 4x (+2 Stops).

Our glass is specially ground and polished to minimize internal reflections, while ensuring that the quality of your images are not degraded by using our optics in front of your lens. It is also specially hardened to resist most impacts.

The Heliopan 39mm Orange Glass Filter for Black and White Film is used for producing contrast effects that darken sky and water, as in more dramatic architectural photography. This filter will also suppress blue. It makes clouds stand out even more than a #15 Yellow filter when shooting against a blue sky. Distant horizons will look even clearer.
