Overview

The Heliopan 8018 Circular Polarizing Filter with SH-PMC coating is designed to enhance image quality by increasing color saturation and reducing unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water, glass, and painted materials. Its circular polarizing design makes it fully compatible with modern autofocus and exposure systems.

Manufactured in Germany using premium Schott optical glass, this filter delivers excellent sharpness, neutral color balance, and high light transmission. The precision-machined brass filter ring provides smooth threading and long-term durability, while the front filter thread allows additional accessories such as lens caps or secondary filters to be attached.

The advanced SH-PMC multi-coating system uses eight anti-reflective layers on each side of the glass to minimize flare and internal reflections, reducing reflectivity to approximately 0.2% per air-to-glass surface. The coating also helps repel moisture, fingerprints, and dirt for easier cleaning and improved durability in demanding shooting environments.

The rotating filter mount allows precise adjustment of the polarization effect, making it easy to control glare, deepen blue skies, improve contrast, and reveal detail hidden beneath reflective surfaces. For the strongest polarization effect, positioning the camera approximately 90 degrees to the sun is recommended.
