This filter, also known as a conversion (reversal) filter, allows the use of daylight-balanced slide film under artificial light of 3400 K (e.g., photo lamps and halogen light).

The color temperature is increased by approx. 2000 K, matching the difference between neutral daylight and photographic artificial light. When used with the KB 12 filter, daylight color film reproduces natural color values under artificial lighting.
